On October 4, 2007, Austrian tennis player Stefan Koubek was disqualified from his Metz Open round of 16 match against Frenchman Sebastien Grosjean. Despite leading 4-2 in the deciding third set, Koubek lost his temper following an umpire ruling that ordered a contested point to be replayed.

Koubek summoned tournament supervisor Thomas Karlberg to protest the decision. After refusing to accept the rules and using abusive language toward the supervisor, Koubek was immediately defaulted.
