Paris Masters tournament director Cedric Pioline stated that organizers would adapt if Gael Monfils made contact, leaving open a potential opportunity despite the French player's sudden retirement. Monfils withdrew from events in Lyon and Paris following the US Open, ending his professional tennis career quietly without a formal farewell tour.

However, Monfils cannot officially compete at the Paris Masters because he has notified the International Tennis Integrity Agency of his retirement. According to the ITIA, returning to tour-level events requires undergoing six months of out-of-competition testing, meaning any potential appearance could only occur in an exhibition capacity.
