Arsenal lost their Messi Cup opener on Sunday, but the young Gunners will immediately get the chance to turn things around on Monday.

Arsenal Under-16s suffered a 1-0 defeat to Newell's Old Boys in their opening match of the Messi Cup on Sunday. Jeremias Suarez scored the decisive goal early in the contest with a fortunate tap-in after a low cross bypassed several defenders. Arsenal struggled to create clear opportunities against a disciplined defense that protected its early lead.
The young Gunners face Barcelona on Monday in their second group fixture, followed by a final group stage match against Palmeiras on Tuesday. Finishing in the top two of Group B would send Arsenal to the top-eight knockout bracket, while a lower finish will place them in the bottom-eight classification bracket.
