It was the most international-looking Scotland team in history but that's not necessarily a negative for our game

Ally McCoist expressed concern on talkSPORT regarding the lack of Scottish Premiership players in the Scotland national team's starting lineup. The former international highlighted that opponents North Macedonia featured more Scottish-based players in their starting eleven, with Rangers striker Bojan Miovski starting up front, than Scotland did.
McCoist pointed out the expanding financial disparity between Scottish football and other leagues, citing Aston Villa midfielder John McGinn as an example. The Daily Record reports that while the lack of domestic-based talent highlights financial gaps, it also demonstrates that top Scottish players are thriving abroad.
