Former Toronto Maple Leafs President Brendan Shanahan has returned to professional hockey by joining Kilmer Sports Ventures as a strategic advisor for the Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL). Kilmer Sports Ventures is owned by Larry Tanenbaum, reuniting the pair following their 11 years working together at Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment (MLSE).
Editor In Leaf notes that Tanenbaum has heavily supported women's sports following his sale of MLSE shares earlier this year. The writer also reports that while Shanahan had previously held conversations regarding an NHL role with the New York Islanders, he will now focus on his advisory position with the PWHL.
