Milan defender Matteo Gabbia suffered an unfortunate injury just over a quarter of an hour…

AC Milan defender Matteo Gabbia was stretchered off in tears just over 15 minutes into Sunday's Serie A clash against Sassuolo at the Mapei Stadium. The center-back went down injured on the touchline while attempting to challenge Armand Lauriente, forcing manager Ruben Amorim into an unexpected early substitution in the 20th minute.
The match marked Gabbia's first start of the 2026-27 season following an earlier ankle issue in September. The defender was replaced by Koni De Winter after sustaining what appeared to be a flexor injury.
