Mikel Arteta and Andrea Berta have plenty of work to do in the upcoming transfer window or two as Arsenal look to establish the foundations of a dynasty.

A study by the CIES Football Observatory revealed a £285.2 million disparity in player value appreciation between Manchester City and Arsenal over five years. The research evaluated the appreciation and depreciation of non-academy signings among clubs spending and selling over €50 million. Manchester City ranked fifth overall with an appreciation of €447 million (£378.3 million), while Arsenal achieved an appreciation value of €110 million (£93.1 million).
Jake Stokes writes for Football London that Arsenal must conduct shrewder transfer business to remain self-sufficient. The article notes that under sporting director Andrea Berta, who took charge in March 2025, Arsenal embraced a win-now approach featuring major purchases such as Declan Rice for £105 million. Meanwhile, Manchester City recently appealed guilty verdicts regarding alleged Premier League financial rule breaches.
