Arsenal failed to complete a deal for Nico Williams after significant interest and the player's agent has told his side of the story

Nico Williams' agent Felix Tainta confirmed Arsenal, Barcelona, Liverpool, Bayern Munich, and PSG all sought to sign the winger after Euro 2024. Despite widespread interest, Williams opted to remain at Athletic Bilbao and sign a new long-term permanent contract, prioritizing guaranteed playing time.
Tainta explained on the Los Fulanos podcast that Williams could not risk reduced minutes ahead of the World Cup. Arsenal subsequently shifted transfer targets, while Williams secured his spot in Spain manager Luis de la Fuente's squad and assisted Ferran Torres' extra-time winner in the final.
