Emi Martinez was stretchered off the field against Everton after suffering a worrying head injury and the Chelsea star was taken to hospital following the issue

Chelsea goalkeeper Emi Martinez is set to undergo surgery on a jaw injury and will miss at least two weeks due to concussion protocols following Chelsea's win over Everton. The Argentine was stretchered off and taken to the hospital after a heavy clash of heads with Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite, which delayed the match by more than 10 minutes.
Chelsea head coach Xabi Alonso confirmed that Martinez was conscious when leaving the stadium for precautionary assessments. Argentine journalist Gaston Edul reported Martinez's head, neck, and back cleared tests, though a jaw injury requires an extended hospital stay. Pedro Neto dedicated Chelsea's victory to the injured goalkeeper.
