The Dutchman has returned to Tottenham from international duty for treatment after suffering an injury while with the Netherlands

Jan Paul van Hecke has left Netherlands international duty and returned to Tottenham Hotspur after suffering a painful toe injury. Netherlands manager Xavi confirmed the defender's toe was stepped on during a 2-1 win against Serbia, leaving him in too much pain to touch the ball during subsequent training sessions.
The 27-year-old center-back is now being assessed at Hotspur Way ahead of Tottenham's Premier League trip to Manchester United on October 10. Van Hecke, who joined Spurs for £52 million to reunite with head coach Roberto De Zerbi, has played every league minute this season.
