It’s official for the Girondins de Bordeaux

The Ligue de Nouvelle-Aquitaine has officially validated the registration of Girondins de Bordeaux in Regional 1, France's sixth tier, for the current season. The decision comes after the financially troubled club narrowly avoided judicial liquidation and was acquired in late September by English investment fund Park Bench from Gérard Lopez. Bordeaux had previously been excluded from national championships by the DNCG in July due to severe financial distress.

Bordeaux will begin their league campaign on Friday, October 16, against the Bayonne reserve team after missing the first four matchdays. Following the match, the club is scheduled to register the validation of its resumption and a new continuation plan with the Bordeaux commercial court on October 20.
