The Los Angeles Lakers have assigned rookie guard Cameron Carr to their NBA G League affiliate, the Coachella Valley Lakers. The move comes ahead of the G League team's season opener against the Salt Lake City Stars on Friday. Carr, who was selected No. 24 overall in the 2026 NBA Draft, has seen limited regular-season playing time after earning praise from head coach JJ Redick during training camp.
Carr was limited to just three appearances totaling 1.3 minutes per game for Los Angeles this season after an oblique strain caused him to miss the first six contests. The G League assignment allows the former Baylor guard to receive extended playing time and rediscover the form he displayed during an impressive Summer League campaign.
