The New York Giants had a surprise injury update on their breakout defensive star on Wednesday.

New York Giants edge rusher Abdul Carter appeared on Wednesday's injury report with a calf issue after missing practice. Head coach John Harbaugh provided limited details on Carter's status, stating only that the breakout star is doing very well and would be listed on the official report ahead of the team's Week 6 game against the New Orleans Saints.
Carter has recorded 14 tackles, two sacks, and a forced fumble through five games for the 3-1-1 Giants. His potential absence is particularly notable after fellow edge rusher Brian Burns suffered a season-ending knee injury in Week 3.
