Rangers manager Derek McInnes strongly defended defender Emmanuel Fernandez following the club's disappointing draw against Hearts. McInnes voiced irritation toward journalists for only questioning the Nigerian defender after poor performances, citing Fernandez's display in a 4-0 win against 10-man St Johnstone as proof of his quality.
Ibrox Noise writer Sam Groves argues that McInnes's impassioned defence borders on stubbornness rather than constructive management. Groves contends that Fernandez's recurring defensive errors undermine the team during the Scottish Premiership title pursuit against Celtic, noting alternative option Ben Godfrey remains available.
