The Los Angeles Lakers suit up on Tuesday night for their fourth of five preseason games, and the status of starting center Walker Kessler remains up in the air. Kessler (finger) is yet to take the court for the Lakers…

Los Angeles Lakers starting center Walker Kessler praised the team's defensive performances as he remains sidelined during the preseason with a finger injury. Speaking to ESPN's Dave McMenamin, Kessler highlighted the impact of wing defenders Matisse Thybulle, Ziaire Williams, Quentin Grimes, and Jake LaRavia, while also commending Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves for their off-ball intelligence.
Without Kessler, the Lakers have started the preseason 2-1 using Kevon Looney and Sandro Mamukelashvili at center. Kessler noted that his anticipated role once healthy is to serve as the team's defensive anchor, comparing his responsibilities on the floor to that of an NFL linebacker.
