The Lakers fumbled their chance at signing three better fits for their final two-way spot and were forced to settle for Lawson Lovering.

Writing for Lake Show Life, Chris Lambert argues that the Los Angeles Lakers should have pursued three alternative big men for their final two-way roster spot instead of signing Lawson Lovering. The Lakers signed Lovering to a two-way deal to provide frontcourt depth ahead of their win over the Clippers, but Lambert contends the center offers limited impact.
Lambert suggests free agent Jesse Edwards as the ideal fit due to his rim protection and screen-and-roll ability. He also highlights Adama Sanogo and Ibou Badji as superior developmental options, noting that while both are currently under contract overseas, they would have offered higher upside than Lovering.
