The Cowboys' defense struggled against Tampa Bay’s rushing attack, raising questions about Christian Parker, execution, and the adjustments Dallas has to make.

The Dallas Cowboys suffered a Week 5 defeat against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, primarily driven by defensive lapses under defensive coordinator Christian Parker. Rookie quarterback Jalon Daniels and running back Bucky Irving guided Tampa Bay to explosive gains and extended possessions. Costly penalties, combined with long scoring drives, quickly undermined Dallas' early lead.
Offensive miscues also hindered Dallas, including two interceptions thrown by Dak Prescott and a lost fumble by KaVontae Turpin. Although Prescott connected with George Pickens for a fourth-quarter touchdown following a 99-yard drive, a tipped-pass interception caught off Jake Ferguson in the final minute ultimately sealed the victory for Tampa Bay.
