The New York Giants turned their offense over to former Minnesota Vikings QB JJ McCarthy late against the Saints, and he gave them a little bit of everything.

Quarterback JJ McCarthy delivered an eventful fourth-quarter relief appearance for the New York Giants in a 34-27 loss to the New Orleans Saints. Replacing starter Jameis Winston with 11:31 remaining and trailing 34-10, McCarthy threw an early interception before orchestrating a 17-0 scoring surge. He completed 11 of 21 passes for 243 yards, recording his first touchdown pass as a Giant to tight end Isaiah Likely.
The comeback attempt fell short in the final seconds when McCarthy's fourth-down pass to Likely fell incomplete from the Saints' 14-yard line under pressure from Chase Young. Following the defeat, the Giants moved to a 3-2-1 record ahead of their upcoming game against the Houston Texans.
