Yankees mocked by Rays with ruthless ‘New York, New York’ clubhouse celebration

The Tampa Bay Rays celebrated sweeping the New York Yankees in Game 3 of the ALDS by singing Frank Sinatra's "(Theme From) New York, New York" in the visitors' clubhouse. Video showed Rays players arm-in-arm, covered in beer, mocking the home team's post-win tradition at Yankee Stadium. Tampa Bay third baseman Junior Caminero also mimed a broom on the field and repeated David Ortiz's famous phrase, "Da Yankees lose!"

The celebration echoed the 2018 ALDS, when the Boston Red Sox played the same tune after defeating the Yankees. Yankees captain Aaron Judge, who missed the entire playoff run due to a calf injury, watched the elimination from the dugout and expressed disappointment over missed opportunities throughout the series.
