Dan Garber was allowed to fight on by Amy Pu despite his corner calling for the fight in London to be stopped…

Referee Amy Pu stirred controversy after refusing to stop a heavyweight fight when Dan Garber's corner repeatedly threw in the towel against Adam Olaniyan. The incident occurred at London's O2 Arena on Saturday night on the Daniel Dubois vs. Fabian Wardley undercard. After Garber was knocked down in the second round, Pu ignored and swept away a thrown towel, allowing the contest to continue.
Around 20 seconds after the restart, Olaniyan dropped Garber again, prompting a third towel and Pu officially waving off the bout. Garber received oxygen afterward but walked out under his own power. British Boxing Board of Control General Secretary Robert Smith noted that the referee serves as the sole arbitrator during an active round.
