New York cut players and coaches were explicit in their evaluation of players after last week's loss to the Saints.

The New York Giants coaching staff has intensified pressure on the squad following a 34-27 loss to the New Orleans Saints. Ahead of their road matchup against the Houston Texans, the Giants released veterans Najee Harris and Jihad Ward after coaching evaluations. Defensive coordinator Dennard Wilson publicly criticized his unit for poor pursuit and effort, while head coach John Harbaugh and offensive coordinator Matt Nagy demanded more accountability regarding ball security and pre-snap penalties.
Despite the internal turbulence, the Giants remain atop the NFC East heading into their bye week. Starting tackles Andrew Thomas, Jermaine Eluemunor, and Marcus Mbow returned to practice in limited roles to prepare for Houston's pass rush. However, defensive starters Tremaine Edmunds and Greg Newsome II missed consecutive sessions due to injuries.
