The New York Rangers have placed defenseman Sean Durzi on injured reserve with an undisclosed ailment and placed goaltender James Reimer on waivers ahead of their game against the Philadelphia Flyers. Durzi has been sidelined since October 26, but head coach Mike Sullivan suggested he could potentially join the team during their upcoming four-game road trip through the Pacific Division.
Reimer's placement on waivers coincides with goaltender Joonas Korpisalo nearing a return from injury following an AHL conditioning appearance. Durzi has tallied two goals and five points across 14 games this season, primarily playing alongside Marcus Pettersson.
