McLaren is suddenly looking over its shoulder at the fast-coming Red Bull.

McLaren team principal Andrea Stella confirmed the team plans to introduce fresh upgrades across the final three races of the season. The development push aims to combat a surging Red Bull team, which has closed the gap to McLaren to just seven points in the championship standings following strong performances in Bahrain and Singapore.
Stella explained that the upgrades will be delivered in phases to help McLaren fight for podiums and chase Ferrari. Additionally, bringing new components to the current MCL40 will allow McLaren to test crucial aerodynamic concepts ahead of developing the 2027 MCL41 machine.
