Dan Friedkin hails progress on Roma’s £8.9bn stadium project while Everton manager David Moyes reveals the chairman has never spoken to him.

Roma's proposed new stadium project in Pietralata has received final approval from the Conferenza dei Servizi, clearing the way for the next phase of the development. Club owner Dan Friedkin welcomed the news, calling it a great moment for Roma. The project is expected to involve an investment of more than €1bn, with Rome mayor Roberto Gualtieri stating that construction is targeted to begin in March 2027 and finish toward late 2029.
The progress in Italy comes amid ongoing interest from Everton supporters, as the Friedkin family also owns the English club. Everton manager David Moyes recently revealed he has not spoken directly to Dan Friedkin since returning to the club in January 2025, with chief executive Angus Kinnear serving as his primary point of contact.
