A reported £1 billion valuation of Everton could deter potential buyers as The Friedkin Group explores its options, according to finance expert Stefan Borson. The Friedkin Group confirmed earlier this month that it is considering new investment, including the potential sale of a controlling interest, though the club has not officially confirmed a valuation.
Borson suggested previous bidders from the December 2024 takeover could be re-approached, potentially speeding up initial stages due to prior due diligence. Although Everton's new stadium provides commercial upside, Borson noted that any formal takeover process could take up to six months to complete.
