Former Everton captain Seamus Coleman has questioned the club's decision to sell striker Beto to Fiorentina without securing a replacement first. Beto left on deadline day while a proposed move for Folarin Balogun collapsed, leaving Thierno Barry as manager David Moyes' only recognized senior centre-forward. Coleman stated he could not understand how a Premier League club could leave itself without a natural alternative in attack.
Beyond Beto's permanent departure, Coleman highlighted the exit of Iliman Ndiaye and suggested Everton failed to adequately replace departing attacking talent. While he credited Moyes for stabilizing the squad, Coleman argued the club must show greater ambition than mere survival, placing emphasis on how Everton might address the striker shortage in January.
