La Rochelle stood in solidarity with an emotional Lions side following the sudden death of their team-mate Hyron Andrews.

La Rochelle and the Lions paid emotional tributes to lock Hyron Andrews following his sudden death ahead of their Champions Cup match. The 31-year-old South African forward died in an accident at the Johannesburg squad's team hotel in France on the eve of the clash. Supporters lined the entrance to clap the visiting squad, a minute of silence was held, and Andrews' jersey was displayed at the center of the pitch before kickoff.
Fans also took part in a round of applause in the fifth minute to honor Andrews' squad number. Despite the difficult circumstances, the Lions chose to play the match, which La Rochelle won by a final score of 31-14.
