Pedro Neto scored both second-half goals as Chelsea inflicted Everton’s first defeat of the Premier League season in a 2-0 win on Merseyside after Morgan Rogers escaped a sending off before the interval.

Pedro Neto scored two second-half goals to lead Chelsea to a 2-0 victory over Everton at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, handing Everton their first defeat of the Premier League season. Chelsea forward Morgan Rogers controversially avoided a red card or second yellow card for a tackle on James Garner before the break. Neto opened the scoring 43 seconds into the second half and sealed the win with a second strike in the 90th minute.
The match saw Chelsea keep their first Premier League clean sheet in nine months, moving Xabi Alonso's side to 13 points from seven matches. However, the win was marred by a head injury to goalkeeper Emi Martinez, who was stretchered off in the second half following a collision with Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite and taken to the hospital for precautionary tests.
