The Boston Celtics defeated the Philadelphia 76ers 144-106 in a preseason matchup, recording the highest-scoring preseason win in franchise history. After falling behind 8-0 early in the first quarter, Boston recovered to take a 63-42 lead by halftime. Jayson Tatum led the Celtics with 23 points without playing in the fourth quarter, while Paul George posted 13 points and five steals in his team debut.
Boston dominated Philadelphia on the boards by a 70-41 margin, including an 18-7 advantage on offensive rebounds. Payton Pritchard scored 15 of his points in the first half, while Hugo Gonzalez added 17 points off the bench. V.J. Edgecombe led the Sixers with 19 points in the loss.
