AC Milan and Inter Milan have officially unveiled the plans for their new shared 71,500-capacity venue, Generali Stadium, which will replace the historic San Siro. Construction of the state-of-the-art arena is scheduled to begin in 2028, with the stadium expected to open ahead of the 2031-32 season. Most of the iconic Stadio Giuseppe Meazza is planned to be demolished once the new venue is operational.
The clubs have agreed to a landmark €650 million naming rights deal with Italian insurance giant Generali. The two Italian giants previously spent €197 million to acquire the current stadium site and adjacent parking areas to build the venue, which will feature an X-frame structure and a double-curved roof designed by architect David Manica.
