NASCAR made a major bet by bringing back the Chase in 2026. Four races into the new championship format, the first viewership numbers are encouraging.

NASCAR has received encouraging signs four races into the return of the Chase championship format. The playoff title battle heated up significantly following the Bank of America 400 at Charlotte Motor Speedway, where Chase Briscoe won his second consecutive race in a dramatic photo finish over Joe Gibbs Racing teammate Christopher Bell.
Despite Briscoe's surge, Kyle Larson maintained and padded his championship points lead with a sixth-place finish at Charlotte. Denny Hamlin finished in fifth place despite suffering pit-road trouble and on-track contact with Larson, while defending champion Joey Logano slipped to sixth in the standings, sitting 92 points behind Larson with four races remaining.
