"I had so much respect for him. Gone, man. Gone."

Golden State Warriors rookie Yaxel Lendeborg voiced sharp criticism of Luka Doncic following their season opener matchup in Los Angeles. Lendeborg stated postgame that he lost all respect for Doncic due to what he described as constant complaining and whining to officials throughout the contest. During the game, Lendeborg was hit with a technical foul after exchanging words with the star guard.
Doncic addressed the clash, noting that Lendeborg was talking crazy while explaining that he refrained from retaliating to avoid technical fouls this season. Despite Lendeborg holding Doncic to 1-of-5 shooting when directly contesting shots, Doncic sparked a key second-quarter run, capped by a half-court buzzer-beater, as the Lakers pulled away.
