MetOffice have issued warnings with Premier League weekend at risk…

Manchester United's match against Bournemouth and Liverpool's clash with Brighton are at risk of postponement due to severe weather from Storm Boelo. The Met Office issued amber weather warnings for northern England, parts of Northern Ireland, and Scotland, with gusts expected to reach up to 80mph. Although no matches have been officially called off yet, severe travel disruption and infrastructure damage remain significant concerns for the weekend fixtures.
Former PGMOL chief Keith Hackett explained that match officials, clubs, and police will coordinate closely to avoid a late cancellation. Hackett noted that a referee or local official could conduct early pitch inspections to minimize disruption for supporters, club staff, and catering operations. The situation follows closely behind Storm Austen, which recently caused power outages and widespread transit issues across affected regions.
