The Philadelphia Eagles announced that quarterback Jalen Hurts will miss Sunday's game against the Carolina Panthers due to a superficial blood clot. Hurts initially sought treatment for a calf injury suffered on October 4 before an ultrasound later revealed the issue. Tanner McKee is scheduled to start at quarterback in his place against Carolina.
While Hurts was initially cleared to play in London, a follow-up ultrasound on Wednesday detected movement in the small blood clot. The Eagles ruled him out as medical personnel determine the appropriate treatment course. The Pittsburgh Steelers are scheduled to play the Eagles later in the season on November 22.
