Boston Celtics center Mitchell Robinson stated that head coach Joe Mazzulla has been demanding and consistently challenging him to improve his effort, screening, and decision-making. Speaking after Boston's 114-93 preseason win against the Charlotte Hornets on Wednesday, Robinson embraced the blunt feedback, noting he welcomes the accountability as he adjusts to a significantly expanded offensive role following his move from the New York Knicks.
Robinson signed a three-year, $47.4 million contract with Boston during the 2026 offseason. Against Charlotte, he posted 12 points, seven rebounds, and three blocks in 17 minutes without missing a shot. He highlighted the increased variety of his offensive duties and noted growing chemistry with frontcourt partner Neemias Queta and guard Payton Pritchard.
