Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso has confirmed that defender Pep Chavarria will miss the upcoming match against Tottenham Hotspur. While Chavarria has resumed partial training following an issue that kept him out against Everton, Alonso ruled him out of the fixture. However, the manager stated that fellow defender Malo Gusto is fine to play.
Chavarria could potentially return in time for the midweek fixture against Liverpool. In his absence, Jorrel Hato is set to continue playing on the left side of defense, while Marco Palestra remains available as an alternative option.
