Chelsea full back Pep Chavarria has dropped out of the team, and there’s a strong indication it’s due to injury. If you enjoy Talk Chelsea…

Chelsea left-back Pep Chavarria was omitted from the squad to face Everton following an apparent late fitness issue. Daily Mail reporter Kieran Gill noted that Chavarria was a late dropout after initially being expected to feature. Manager Xabi Alonso made only one change to the lineup that defeated Bournemouth, bringing in Jorrel Hato to replace the Spaniard.
Chavarria was present at the stadium, leading to speculation that he suffered a minor knock or tweak rather than an illness. In the buildup to the match, Alonso also dismissed suggestions that Chelsea would look to sign a new midfielder during the January transfer window to cover for Reece James' injury.
