Mateus Fernandes is on the Premier League Player of the Matchweek shortlist after leading Spurs in passes, touches and tackles in the 2-0 win at Chelsea.

Tottenham midfielder Mateus Fernandes has been nominated for the Premier League Player of the Matchweek award following his performance in a 2-0 victory against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. Operating alongside Sandro Tonali in central midfield, the Portuguese international topped the match rankings with 102 completed passes, 124 touches, two chances created, five crosses, and five tackles won.
Fernandes credited a mid-season training camp in Marbella, Spain, organized by head coach Roberto De Zerbi, as a crucial turning point for squad cohesion. With James Maddison awaiting medical assessment following an early departure in the match, Fernandes is expected to play a central role as Tottenham look to maintain their recent winning form.
