The Kansas City Chiefs could end their partnership with Josh Simmons amid a series of issues that put the young tackle in a complex position. Simmons reportedly clashed with head coach Andy Reid and quarterback Patrick Mahomes last week.
The Kansas City Chiefs may part ways with tackle Josh Simmons following internal clashes and ongoing injury struggles. Simmons, selected 32nd overall in the 2025 NFL draft, reportedly clashed with head coach Andy Reid and quarterback Patrick Mahomes during an offensive meeting when he refused treatment instructions from Reid. Mahomes intervened before Simmons left the room, and the team placed the tackle on injured reserve the following day.
NFL insider Ian Rapoport noted on Peter Schrager's "Big Day" that Simmons' future in Kansas City is uncertain, stating he is unsure if the lineman will play for the team again. With Simmons sidelined by a back injury suffered months earlier, Kahlil Benson is set to protect Mahomes' blindside.
