Christian Horner has dropped another bombshell on the F1 paddock in his new book, claiming Mercedes wanted to sign him before eventually landing Toto Wolff.

Christian Horner revealed in his new book that Mercedes attempted to recruit him as team principal back in 2013 via an offer from Niki Lauda, prior to hiring Toto Wolff. Horner, who left Red Bull in July 2025, detailed the past approach alongside emerging paddock developments regarding Ferrari planning for Lewis Hamilton's eventual retirement.
Elsewhere across Formula 1, Honda CEO Koji Watanabe admitted the manufacturer lost critical development time on Aston Martin's engine. Additionally, Automobile Club of Monaco president Michel Boeri confirmed the Monaco Grand Prix track layout will not be modified to increase overtaking opportunities.
