It didn’t take long for the injury bug to hit the Dallas Cowboys in the Green Bay Packers game. KaVontae Turpin, the Cowboys’ All-Pro return specialist, took a hard hit while returning the opening kickoff.
Dallas Cowboys return specialist KaVontae Turpin suffered an injury on the opening kickoff during Sunday Night Football against the Green Bay Packers. Turpin returned the opening kick 25 yards before absorbing a hard hit that left him with a rib and hip issue, ruling him out for the remainder of the contest. Tyler Goodson and Caleb Downs took over return duties in his absence.
Turpin entered the matchup having logged 549 kickoff return yards on 20 attempts this season. His departure added to mounting problems for the Cowboys, who also saw linebacker Dee Winters exit with an ankle injury as Green Bay secured a 23-13 victory behind quarterback Jordan Love.
