Daily Bean: Maple Leafs Trade Talk; Matt Poitras; Hellebuyck Rumors

The Boston Bruins sit atop the Atlantic Division amid a five-game winning streak, driven in part by young forward Matt Poitras earning five points in six games under Marco Sturm. Meanwhile, veteran forward Sean Kuraly recently experienced his first career healthy scratch before returning to play 14:29 on Saturday as the Bruins prepared to continue their road trip in Dallas.

Around the NHL, Toronto Maple Leafs general manager John Chayka is reportedly seeking defensive help and willing to pay a premium asset rather than pursue a temporary fix. Elsewhere, trade speculation surrounds goaltender Connor Hellebuyck as an option for the Utah Mammoth, while the Pittsburgh Penguins may look to move veterans to open roster spots for young talent.
