Malachi Fields has contributed in every Giants game, but a small package of planned targets could tell them more about the rookie.

Alexander Wilson of Empire Sports Media argues that the New York Giants should deliberately expand rookie wide receiver Malachi Fields' role within the passing offense. Through his first five NFL games, Fields has consistently produced exactly two catches per contest, totaling 10 receptions for 146 yards and one touchdown. Wilson believes the coaching staff should design plays featuring Fields as an early progression read to properly evaluate his long-term ceiling.
While Fields is already listed as a starter, lead passing targets Malik Nabers and Isaiah Likely command the majority of receiving volume. With tight end Theo Johnson ruled out for Week 6 and veteran Darnell Mooney active, Wilson contends testing Fields on a limited set of designed looks will help the staff determine their receiving needs.
