Bees finished the game with nine men

Former Premier League referee Graham Barber strongly criticized Brentford midfielder Yehor Yarmolyuk after he was sent off for a headbutt during Saturday's match against Liverpool. Yarmolyuk was dismissed in first-half stoppage time after a VAR review showed him putting his head into Jeremy Jacquet. Barber stated the incident was even worse than the previous week's clash involving Rodrigo Bentancur and Luke Shaw, questioning why a professional player would commit such an act knowing VAR would intervene.
Brentford had initially taken the lead through Keane Lewis-Potter before Yarmolyuk's dismissal left them with ten men. Liverpool capitalized on the advantage in the second half, securing a 2-1 comeback victory with goals from Victor Munoz and Alexander Isak. Brentford ended the match with nine men after Vitaly Janelt was also shown a red card in second-half injury time.
