Since we’re roughly at the midway point of the football season, let’s look back at the first half for USC.

Ryan Kartje evaluated the USC Trojans football team at their midseason mark following a road victory over Penn State. With the Trojans sitting at 3-1 in Big Ten play, Kartje assessed each position group, awarding "A" grades to the offensive line and wide receivers, while issuing a "B" to quarterback Jayden Maiava and a "D+" to the struggling secondary.
In addition to the midseason evaluation, the newsletter noted that the USC men's basketball team may face early-season depth issues due to injuries to Eric Reibe and freshman Christian Collins. Kartje also highlighted remarks from USC president Beong-Soo Kim, who reaffirmed support for football head coach Lincoln Riley following recent results.
