Celtics defense set to swarm opponents like never before this season

Hardwood Houdini's Ben Handler argues that the Boston Celtics defense is positioned to dominate opponents through aggressive, swarming play this season. During the preseason, Boston ranked third in fewest points allowed per possession and second in turnovers forced per 100 possessions, demonstrating a rare capability to stifle scoring while heavily generating takeaways.

Handler highlights that the Celtics feature versatile plus-defenders across the roster who can switch seamlessly, protect the rim, and rebound effectively. Citing commentary from Adam Mares on the All-NBA Podcast, the analysis asserts that Boston's defensive depth and active ball pressure give them an elite floor every night.
