GREEN BAY, Wis. — Dallas Cowboys rookie Malachi Lawrence started at outside linebacker in Sunday night’s 23-13 loss to the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field, and he said he learned during the week that he would be up.
Dallas Cowboys rookie outside linebacker Malachi Lawrence stated that a 13-4 regular season finish remains possible despite the team falling to a 2-4 record. Lawrence made his comments following a 23-13 loss to the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field, urging his teammates not to dwell on the defeat and to focus on the remaining 11 games.
Lawrence earned the start after learning during the week that he would be elevated, replacing inactive linebacker DeMarvion Overshown in the lineup. Drafted 23rd overall out of UCF, Lawrence contributed a crucial pass breakup on Christian Watson and helped pressure Jordan Love as Dallas prepares for their next game against the Philadelphia Eagles.
