The New York Mets are scheduled to meet with Kevin Long to discuss a possible coaching staff role, according to Mike Puma of the New York Post. Long previously served as the franchise's hitting coach from 2015 to 2017 and recently became available after parting ways with the Philadelphia Phillies.
MLB Trade Rumors suggests Long is a logical candidate for the director of hitting position vacated by Jeff Albert, as Troy Snitker is expected to return as hitting coach. Long also shares a close relationship with Mets outfielder Juan Soto from their time together with the Washington Nationals.
