The New York Mets are scheduled to meet with former hitting coach Kevin Long on Tuesday regarding a vacant coaching staff role, according to Mike Puma of the New York Post. Long recently became available after being relieved of his duties as the hitting coach for the Philadelphia Phillies following their Wild Card round exit against the Atlanta Braves.
Long previously served as the Mets' hitting coach from 2015 to 2017 during their run to the 2015 World Series. He also won World Series titles with the New York Yankees in 2009 and the Washington Nationals in 2019, where he developed a close working relationship with current Mets slugger Juan Soto.
