Head Coach Travis Green has been able to take the Senators to the next step with multiple playoff berths, and a contract extension is deserved.

The Ottawa Senators have signed head coach Travis Green and his coaching staff to multi-year contract extensions running through the 2030-31 season. Green's staff includes Nolan Baumgartner, Ben Sexton, Mike Yeo, and Justin Peters. Writer Matthew Nafe argues that the extension is well deserved after Green guided Ottawa to multiple postseason berths and compiled a 95-60-18 record with a .601 points percentage since joining the team for the 2024-25 season.
Nafe highlights Green's success in implementing a defensive shutdown style while developing core players such as Tim Stützle, Jake Sanderson, and Thomas Chabot. The Senators started the current campaign with a 6-3-0 record, sitting third in the Atlantic Division under general manager Steve Staios.
